Caterpillar Introduce Next Generation Mini Excavator Range

Presented by Caterpillar of Australia Pty Ltd

More power, better operator experience, and lower operating costs—that’s what you can expect from the Cat® Next Generation Mini Excavator range. Caterpillar has completely redesigned their 1 to 10 tonne range using thousands of customers’ feedback from around the globe.

“Customers asked us to rewrite the rules when it came to designing the new mini excavator range… So, we delivered.”

Let’s take a closer look at the Cat® Next Gen Mini Excavators.

Designed for Comfort & Performance

Cat® Next Gen Mini Excavators are designed to be high-performance machines that are affordable and boast impressive comfort and control.

Fitted with a joystick and cruise control, you can manoeuvre, position and travel in your excavator with ease. These machines are multifunctional thanks to the customisation available in the operator settings—meaning your excavator can adjust to suit any task.

The Next Gen models bring performance and fuel efficiency to one small, but mighty, machine. According to Caterpillar, they can deliver up to 20% more performance while maintaining an increase in fuel efficiency.

The 1-2 Tonne Line-Up

The one to two tonne line-up is an impressive range. It has 5 new models which are all equipped with industry-first features that you’ll only find in a Cat® Mini Excavator.

Next Gen Features

Stick Steer

Cat Stick Steer. Source: Supplied.

The Next Gen Mini Excavators can be fitted with the Cat® Stick Steer option. Cat® Stick Steer allows you to switch from traditional travel controls with levers and pedals to new joystick controls with the push of a button.

The left-hand joystick allows you to control the excavator just like a skid steer loader. While the right-hand joystick can be used to control the dozer blade, or the stick and boom functionality.

Air Con

You’ll be operating in comfort with the air conditioned cab in the Next Gen models. Unique to Cat® Mini Excavators, you’ll find air conditioning in even their smallest range!

The heating and cooling of the air conditioning is controlled through the LCD monitor to ensure your cab stays at an optimal temperature all day long. Cat’s sealed, pressurised cab design keeps dust out, so that clean air can stay in.

Cruise Control

Hunching over levers while you’re operating all day can cause back pain so, Cat® has designed their new mini excavator range with cruise control. The cruise control functionality can be enabled by pressing a trigger under the joystick.

You’ll be able to seamlessly move your machine across large open sites with little effort. This function is perfect for working at a constant speed with an attachment like a flail mower or mulcher. You can sit back and relax while still getting the job done!

LCD Monitor

The LCD Monitor allows you to customise your settings, receive calls and even stream music all in the one place.

You have total control—adjust your settings, such as hydraulic speed, to suit the task at hand. You can also receive calls through the monitor, and adjust temperature in the cab. Bluetooth means you can take calls, hands free.

OPTIONAL ADVANCED TOUCH SCREEN MONITOR—On Select Models

Select models have the option of a full eight-inch touchscreen display with high definition graphics and integrated site-reference system that gives you pitch and roll of the machine chassis.

Next Gen Excellence

The Cat® Next Generation Mini Excavators also feature ground level check points with robust service panels and grouped service points, making maintenance quick and easy. This means your machine will spend less time at the service centre, and more time on the jobsite.

Cat’s Mini Excavator range also includes 6 to 10 tonne machines. These impressively small yet mighty machines are ideal for when you need a bit more lift strength, and travel power.
