Digga & Kanga Raise Over 87K for Ovarian Cancer Research

Digga & Kanga Raise Over 87K for Ovarian Cancer Research

It’s a wonderful thing when an industry rallies together for a cause, especially when led by 2 renowned Aussie brands. Together, Digga Australia and Kanga Loaders have coordinated industry events and charity auctions, and as a result raised over $87,000 this year for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF).

The charity is very close to the hearts of those at Digga and Kanga, whose CEO and managing director, Suzie Wright, sadly passed away from a rare form of ovarian cancer in June 2018.

“The earthmoving industry is so generous, like you wouldn’t believe. Pretty much every company involved [in the Annual Golf Day] donated prizes or similar to auction or raffle off. During the day they bought thousands of raffle tickets and donated an incredible amount of money,” said Lionel Smitka, Digga Marketing Manager.

Their fundraising campaigns this year include:

  • Diesel, Dirt & Turf Annual Charity Golf Day ($32,500 raised, matched by Suzie Wright’s family)
  • Kanga mini loader auction at DDT ($22,900 raised)
  • Kanga mini loader online auction — still running, see below

The OCRF receives no government funding. Instead, they rely solely on the support of businesses and the broader community, events like the DDT annual golf day, and raffles and auctions such as the Kanga mini loader charity auction.

Want to take part in the auction? Why not place your bid for a good cause today. Auction closes May 23 at 12pm AEST, so be sure to get in before then!
