Several heavyweights in Australia’s construction scene have already confirmed their stands at the 2018 National Construction Equipment Convention (NCEC), with Hitachi, Komastu, Volvo/CJD, Toyota Materials Handling, Tutt Bryant and Clark Equipment supporting the new mega show.
CMEIG National President Ranil Tennakoon, from Caterpillar Global Construction & Infrastructure, said, “We are excited to be a part of this industry-owned event that aims to unite buyers and sellers in unique forums; multiple association events will also be held concurrently, with NCEC as the pivotal hub. We strongly encourage fellow industry stakeholders to participate, to enable NCEC to reach its full potential and inevitably improve the sector as a whole.”
Komatsu’s Southern Region GM, Gerry Leonard, said, “Komatsu Australia are pleased to support the introduction of the NCEC. We consider the NCEC an excellent forum for the construction industry to promote itself and for Komatsu to highlight our company’s technical and support capability to a very wide customer base. We recognise the new business opportunities this convention will offer and look forward to participating.”
Volvo Construction Equipment’s Business Director for the APAC Sales Region, James Kennedy, said, “Volvo Construction Equipment is looking forward to NCEC. This long-awaited national event will not only offer unique business opportunities but also include educational features and multiple networking and social activities to engage key buyers. NCEC will deliver a combination of thought-provoking presentations and innovative exhibitors presenting new ideas to drive the industry forward into the future.”
To be held at Sydney Showground in November, the newly designed mega show builds on the success of three biennial state-based shows, and takes the new national event — a three-day hub for industry — well beyond a localised trade exhibition. NCEC will focus on new technology and industry innovation and how implementation will help the bottom dollar. NCEC absorbs the Australian Construction Equipment Expos (ACE EXPO) held in Queensland and Victoria, and Western Australian mining-innovation show, Construction Mining Equipment Expo (CME EXPO).
The CMEIG’s Ranil Tennakoon said, “We are delighted to bring NCEC 2018 to fruition. We believe there is a real need for a major national show for the Australian earth moving and infrastructure construction sector to provide a genuine platform for industry peers to network, learn, grow, overcome shared challenges and ultimately do business.”
Volvo Construction Equipment’s James Kennedy said, “We encourage all industry players to get involved.”
Along with the big names of Hitachi, Komastu, Volvo/CJD, Toyota Materials Handling and Clark Equipment, others already signed up include Atlas Heavy Engineering and National Pump & Energy.
