New Holland E35B: Equipment Focus

For excavation work in a tight work area, a zero-tail excavator like the New Holland E35B is what you need. The intelligent design means the counterweight will never extend beyond the tracks, giving you peace of mind while operating, and reducing the chance of machine or job site damage.

Don’t think this mini-excavator is only suited to small jobs though. With a 30 hp, Tier-4 engine as standard, the New Holland E35B doesn’t look out of place on those larger worksites either.

New Holland E35B Specs

To ensure the E35B is a versatile workhorse, New Holland has packed a surprising amount of power and capability under the hood. Making it a great choice for your next project.

Engine 3TNV88-BPYB
Power @ 2400 RPM 22.5 kW (30 hp)
Operating Weight Range 3655 – 3915 kg*
Arm breakout force as per ISO kN 18.7 kN
Bucket breakout force as per ISO kN 27.4 kN
Travel Speeds 2.5km/h low range, 4.5km/h high range

*Operating weight depends on track material and whether the excavator has a canopy or cab.

The Tier-4 compliant engine is fuel-efficient and quiet, and is able to run for longer (and cooler) thanks to the large, water-cooled radiators. Easily switch between low and high speed thanks to the single push button, while the automatic downshift takes care of the work when turning at high speed.

Rubber tracks are standard on the New Holland E35B. These help to reduce noise and surface damage to asphalt, concrete and turf. The optional steel tracks provide extended track life.

Servicing Made Easy

The New Holland E35B is an excavator that has been designed with maintenance in mind. Wide, swing-open service doors create convenient access areas, while the intuitive layout of components makes regular maintenance and servicing quicker and easier than in previous models. The electrical compartment is located under the seat for easy access.

The fuel tank can be filled, and the hour meter checked, all from the ground level. While the hydraulic oil level can be monitored through the easy-to-read gauge.

Cleaning the E35B is a breeze thanks to the convenient design. The floor plate has no protrusions, so it’s simple to wash down and dry. While the fuel tank resists rust and can be removed and cleaned externally. The E35B even comes with an oil spill pan to manage the engine oil filter and reduce possible mess.

As an added bonus, you don’t need any tools for the fuel tank drain cock, and engine oil quick drain is standard.

Inside the E35B’s Cab

Compared to their previous compact excavators, New Holland has made the platform 20% larger on the E35B, giving you ample legroom and space to work in. The 3-post design gives you plenty of access to enter and exit the cab, while the wider threshold ensures you’ll have an easy time stepping on or off.

The cab also features an adjustable, cushioned seat—suited to any size operator. As well as standard armrests to reduce operator fatigue.

In another effort to reduce fatigue and boost productivity, the controls have been laid out ergonomically. With an easy-reach dozer blade control handle and auxiliary hydraulic foot controls being the stand-out features in this department.

New Holland E35B Price

If a New Holland E35B is right for you, then you should be prepared to be paying about $35,000 for a used model*, with a more recent model going as high as $48,000. Or, if the E35B isn’t quite what you’re after, have a look through some excavator auctions to find the right machine for you.
