Chinese heavy equipment manufacturer SANY wowed audiences at the recent ConExpo in Las Vegas. Showing off their impressive range of excavators for the first time in the North American market, the group had no trouble catching the eyes of punters.
Recognised as one of the world’s leading innovators in heavy machinery, SANY didn’t disappoint over the 5-day event. Revealing 12 new machines at the expo, they boasted superior performance in their low-emissions machinery, which meets the expectations of the high-end USA and European markets. On display was their new SY26U, a compact zero-tail swing excavator with independent boom swing, which makes this pocket rocket perfect for operating in confined spaces, such as city works, landscaping and farming. Also exciting audiences was the new SY50U, a slightly larger model at 5 tonne, with zero-tail swing and hydraulic system. The recently updated hydraulics have further improved speed and power while reducing fuel expenditure.
With excavator sales up 32% in 2016, it’s clear that the heavy machinery world is picking up what SANY’s excavators are putting down. Their online-to-offline sales model is seeing steady growth, with a 5 fold increase in sales through their online portal, year on year. Offering 0% finance and 5-year (or 5000 hour) warranties at the expo, SANY were clearly there to make a mark.
The SANY Transformer was looking the part, as usual and bringing out the little kid in all who attended. Not to be outdone, one of their enterprising excavators showed of its skills by tackling a unilateral bridge on just one track. The SY75C wonder weighs in at 7.5 tonne, and is powered by the reliable Isuzu Tier 4f engine. The machine’s stability and ingenuity is without question after this incredible display.
Not to be outshone by the small and mini excavator range, SANY’s loader catalogue has also seen some exciting additions. The SW405K was the only loader on display at the expo, however it certainly sets the tone for their entire range. Equipped with multi-function loader arm control, emergency backup steering and an independent hydro-driven reversible fan, the loader certainly holds its own in terms of reliability, comfort and flexibility.
With plants operating in China, USA, Germany, Brazil and India, it is clear that SANY are taking the world of machinery by storm. They are currently regarded as the sixth largest manufacturer of heavy equipment in the world, and they have enjoyed the fruits of China’s industrial boom. However, with the Chinese market slowing, SANY have made improvements to their range which place them squarely among the top players of the high-end market, which demand higher efficiency for lower outputs. With this in mind, in a changing market, we are sure to see yet more exciting innovations within their range at next year’s event.
