Tweed Shire Welcomes Dedicated New Equipment Provider

KC Equipment has expanded its branch network into Murwillumbah with the acquisition of respected equipment supplier Noel Graham Farm Machinery—providing Tweed Shire with a dedicated new equipment provider.

KC Equipment acquired Noel Graham Farm Machinery from joint owners Noel and Mary-Anne Graham, and Malcolm and Debbie Byrne. Noel, Mary-Anne and Debbie are retiring, while Malcolm will be staying in the business to aid in the transition. Effective immediately, the deal ensures continuity of service for Noel Graham Farm Machinery customers, with KC Equipment continuing operation out of the same location, with the same product range, and with the same local staff behind the Parts Counter and in the Workshop.

KC Equipment already has two established branches, located in Yatala and Lismore. This acquisition now results in KC Equipment being the exclusive AGCO dealer from Brisbane to the north of Grafton. The Murwillumbah branch will continue to offer Massey Ferguson, Iseki, Fendt and Kubota tractors and implements, along with the entire range of Kubota residential and commercial mowers and utility vehicles.

The existing ranges of sprayers, implements, slashers and cane equipment from Gessner, Howard and Hardi will remain available from the branch, to be joined by the comprehensive John Berends lineup.

The Murwillumbah branch continues the KC Equipment model of full-service locations, with the Workshop, Showroom and Parts Counters remaining open. The site will be open six days a week—7.30am to 5pm on weekdays, and 8am to 11am on Saturdays. A range of upgrades are planned over the coming months, ensuring the people of the Tweed Shire get the best experience possible from their local equipment supplier.

Noel Graham, Murwillumbah

This acquisition is a fitting close to this chapter of Noel Graham’s professional career. Murwillumbah born-and-bred, Noel Graham started his career as an apprentice mechanic with Massey Ferguson and Holden dealer Ebbott Fenner in 1969.

Malcolm Byrne, also a local, began his apprenticeship a few years later, over the road at Tweed Machinery. After nineteen years of working for Ebbott Fenner, Noel had the opportunity to purchase the Massey Ferguson dealership from retiring owner Paul Ebbott. He and Malcolm did so together, in 1988. In 1996 Noel and Malcolm were approved to become Case dealers, and in 2000 they bought Sunrise Motors, bringing the Kubota brand into the company.

KC Equipment Director Russell Bryson has a similar story to Noel’s. Starting at what was then KC Farm Equipment in Yatala in 1992, Russell begin as a Parts Interpreter, working closely with the local cane growers in the region. From years of loyal service the opportunity of ownership arose, which he enacted with then Workshop Manager Justin Hunter in 2003. In the fourteen years they’ve owned the business they’ve expanded KC Equipment from a single agricultural-focused Brisbane operation to a three branch network, now servicing all of South-East Queensland and Northern New South Wales in the agricultural, residential and commercial groundscare, and professional groundskeeping industries.

Both Directors are excited at the opportunity to provide for the people of the Tweed Shire, and are interested in giving back to the local community. They encourage all residents to get in touch if they have any questions regarding their equipment, or the acquisition of Noel Graham Farm Machinery.
