Nordfab electrically operated slide dampers are used for controlling airflow through ducting to multiple machines that require dust extraction. The valves are typically set to be 100% open or closed. The main body and damper blade is constructed from galvanised sheetmetal. The units are driven by an electrical motor. The motors are supplied standard in 24 VDC but are also available in 240 VAC.

The dampers can be integrated into an Ezi-Duct control system whereby the individual dampers are interlocked in with the operation of each machine and will open/close when the particular machine has started/stopped. The Ezi-Duct control system will detect when a machine or multiple machines are in operation and send a signal from the control system to open the damper and start the centralised dust collector fan. The control system will allow the fan to keep operating until the last machine is switched off and then send a signal to the fan to stop.
