FOM Industrie AXEL 5 axis CNC machining centre / Router

Incorporating FOM’s unique 5 axis head, the Axel is a customizable 5 axis machining centre designed to work aluminium, PVC and steel. The Axel is used primarily in the building, rail & heavy vehicle sectors – its flexibility makes it ideal for any 5 axis applications on large profiles.

Standard bed lengths are 7.5m, 10m and 15m. The Z capacity is over 300mm, with over 550mm available in the Y. However as a fully customizable solution, all specs can be modified on request. The on board tool change system allows a large range of tools to be readily available to the machining head.

The working area can be equipped with the “alternate machining” function allowing the operator to load/unload profiles whilst the machine is operating in alternate areas. This option uses a second pneumatic, retractable, stop creating 4 separate working areas. A motorized chip conveyor can also be installed in the base of the machine.

The main structure of the machine bed has the sliding carriage on its rear section. Both are made in electro welded steel and stabilized after each manufacturing phase to ensure that there is no internal tension; this process guarantees stability and precision during machining.
