The ATLANTIC ATPL has a sturdy welded table structure, with integrated fume exhaust chambers and bolted-on cutting table.

The gantry of the machine rests on linear guides, mounted on the welded profiles, and is driven by two brush-less AC Servo motors with helical rack-and-pinion system (double X-axis drive). The synchronized system of the two X-axis motors assures perfect parallel movement of the gantry over the linear guides.

On top of the gantry, The integrated Z-Axis controls the height of the cutting head by means of a Servo motor with ball screw drive system.
The correct positioning on all axes is assured by high-resolution encoders, mounted on the motors.
The HYPERTHERM plasma cutting system is mounted on the main carrier of the machine. Included is a Torch Height Control (THC) unit, monitoring the Z-axis (Servo motor) for the automatic height positioning of the torch during the cutting process. During the cutting process, the THC unit measures the Arc Voltage and adjusts the Z-axis motor to maintain a constant distance from the sheet for optimum cutting results.
