Enhance the carrying capacity of your property with a John Shearer Pasture Drill. Renowned for their robust performance and long-lasting value, these pasture drills offer simple maintenance and easy operation, along with a variety of optional attachments to meet your needs.
The Pasture Drill is available in four row options: 10 rows with a 1.8 meter sowing width, 13 rows at 2.3 meters, 16 rows at 2.9 meters, and 19 rows at 3.4 meters. You can choose from Tyne, Coulter/Tyne, or Disc openers, making it versatile for sowing new pastures or renovating existing ones.
The drill features clamp-on, fully adjustable spring release tynes and coulter assemblies, along with adjustable levelling and high flotation tyres. Its strong, sturdy construction and robust design ensure durability, while fluted distributors handle a wide variety of seeds effectively. Distributors and rubber gates are mounted on aluminium shafts, and the drill includes a remote greasing facility for grain and fertilizer shaft bearings. The dual boot adapter offers options between Baker or Mini-T boots, and an in-cab electronic hectaremeter provides precise measurements. The grain and fertilizer box are equipped with an extra-large sight glass and lid gas struts for convenience.
For pasture upgrades, direct drilling is an efficient method to improve both the quality and density of stock feed. The Tyne Drill is ideal for sowing into fully cultivated seed beds or removing existing pasture. Fitted with 580 single spring tynes, or optionally 620 double spring tynes, it excels at handling trash during sowing.
The Coulter Tyne Drill is suited for improving existing pastures where retention of some pasture is desired. The coulters cut a path ahead of each sowing tyne, reducing disturbance of the existing pasture.
The Disc Drill features an adjustable breast cut to maintain soil firmness while minimizing grazing time lost. Sowing rates are easily calibrated with the wide-range gearbox, and the large seed and fertilizer hopper reduces the need for frequent refills, speeding up the sowing process.
Built with heavy-duty construction, the John Shearer Pasture Drill is designed to last, with special attention to the frame and axles. The fluted distributors handle a broad range of seed types, from fine seeds like clovers and lucerne to larger legumes. Each drill can be tailored to your tractor with either a 3-point linkage connection or an optional trailing hitch kit.
