MG is the leading manufacturer of sheet bending machines in Europe. Renowned for technical innovation and exceptional customer service, it has established a strong global presence.
MG also manufactures a complete range of flattening and straightening machines, providing ideal solutions to avoid issues during the manufacturing process of coils, including cutting, profiling, pressing, and shearing. Sheets exiting rolling lines often have defects due to non-planarity, which can complicate further processing and negatively impact downstream operations, leading to costly production delays. MG's range of flattening machines effectively eliminates any sheet curvature and undulation, thereby reducing overall costs and customer-related issues.
MG produces multi-cylindrical machines that subject the material to alternating deformations. The diameter and spacing of the rollers are crucial for achieving optimal flattening results, tailored to the thickness and type of material being processed. The lower rollers are motorized through a transmission system designed specifically by MG for this type of processing. The machine structure is welded and machined using CNC boring tools.
MG's straightening machines are capable of eliminating all forms of curvature and undulation in metal sheets. The process involves alternating plastic deformation through motorized rollers, with a greater number of rollers used for thinner materials and fewer for thicker sheets. Each MG machine is configured to accommodate the thickness and type of material that requires processing.
Typically designed with a standard configuration of nine rolls (with the lower rolls hydraulically controlled), these machines work with metal sheet plates of varying widths and thicknesses as specified by the customer. All rolls are constructed from fully forged steel and subsequently hardened for maximum durability with any type of metal. They are mounted on sealed, lifetime-lubricated double spherical roller bearings.
The driving unit in the superimposed rollers is engineered to facilitate the feeding of the sheet metal plate. As the straightening process induces permanent effects, the metal structure must be subjected to stresses that exceed its elasticity limit, placing it in the plastic range. To achieve optimal sheet flatness, a perfect combination of the number of rolls, their spacing, and diameters is essential.
MG machines offer an innovative electronic CNC control system for straightening, allowing operators to input different parameters or start a new work cycle by re-running a previously saved program. With 50 years of experience and continuous research and development, MG has refined this advanced electronic CNC control system. The machine's settings are determined scientifically rather than relying on individual operator experience. After inputting the thickness, width, and quality of the material, the work parameters are calculated based on the desired results.
MG straightening machines can accommodate working widths ranging from 1,000 to 3,000 mm and sheet thicknesses from 0.5 to 60 mm.
