REDMOND GARY Pole Extractor
THE BEST CHOICE FOR REMOVING POLES MADE FROM TIMBER, STEEL OR CONCRETE
FEATURES:
The PoleX (Pole Extractor) is a safe way to remove poles, eliminates manual handing and lifting and dramatically reduces the risk of damage to crane borers and similar equipment. The machine is designed by Australian engineers to meet the requirements of operational staff working in extremely remote regions under harsh Australian conditions.
TECHNICAL DATA:
Maximum Pole Lift: 50,000kg
Maximum Pole Diameter: 530mm
Minimum Pole Diameter: 250mm
The PoleX is a unique piece of equipment designed to work in conjunction with a crane borer or crane to safely remove poles in a controlled environment. The equipment is specifically designed to eliminate as much manual handling as possible and at the same time protect the crane borer from damage resulting from using the boom to loosen poles or lifting loads in excess of the machine's design capability.
The PoleX is easy to set up at the job site. Being trailer-mounted, you simply back it up against the pole. It is provided with special adjustable stoppers to position the PoleX in the right location according to the pole diameter. If the PoleX cannot be backed up to the pole, it can be driven with the aid of a hydraulically powered, steerable jockey wheel (optional) or it can be lifted into position by the crane borer or crane using a special 3-legged sling (optional) which lifts the pole extractor perfectly level into position. Once positioned around the pole, the PoleX is levelled using the two rear jacklegs which have a long stroke and are capable of levelling up to 30° side slope. There is an additional hydraulic front jackleg which can level longitudinally up to 12°. The top of the pole must be supported by a crane and should have a sling around the pole and if using a crane borer, the pole claws should guide the crane at the top. The sling should have a slight tension on it (approx. 300-500kg) and the tension should be maintained while the pole is being lifted by the PoleX. Once levelled, the PoleX claws are manually adjusted to the pole and lifting can commence via manual push-button operation (or by using automatic cycles if option is fitted). Each cycle lifts the pole approx. 300mm and can be repeated as many times as required.
As the pole is lifted out of the ground, the force taken to lift the pole is displayed on a digital display mounted at the front of the PoleX. The display is housed in a metal enclosure and can be rotated to a position where the crane operator can read the display. Once the force required to lift the pole is within the lifting capacity of the crane borer, the pole can be removed without risk of damage to the crane borer.
The PoleX can be operated from a remote pendant control with a 5-metre cable. This allows the operator to stand well clear of the machine during extraction.
The PoleX is of rugged construction featuring hot dip galvanised frame and powdercoated sheet metal components. The trailer is equipped with a water-cooled diesel engine and a fully self-contained power pack. The trailer is designed to comply with Australian Standards and Australian Design Rules. This unit can be registered in any state of Australia and New Zealand. A wide range of optional accessories are available.
