Flat bed CNC lathe with conversational control, can be used in three modes – Manual using CNC control as digital readout system, Teach-In Mode or full CNC. FEATURES
Electronic/CNC lathe model 1M63RF3 is designed for machining of workpieces in the chuck and between centres. The machine has a one-piece bed construction with hardened and ground double-V guideways. The machine is extremely rigid and is capable of processing large workpieces with maximum metal removal rates. It is suitable for one-off small lot and batch production processes.
The machine is ergonomically designed and this design not only makes it easy to use from an operator’s point of view, there is also ample access for loading and unloading large workpieces. The machine is equipped with 2-speed automatic gear box for the spindle drive which is controlled by the CNC system offering a speed range of 10-1800 RPM. The main frame and body of the machine are manufactured from cast iron and the bedways are hardened and ground. All guideways are lubricated by a centralised manual system. The ballscrews and their supporting bearings are lubricated by a centralised system under control of the PLC. The machine is fitted with a manual quick change toolpost.
The machine is supplied with a Siemens spindle motor which has a continuous power rating of 12kW and combined with the high rigidity of the machine build guarantees maximum metal removal rates.
The machine is provided with a coolant system and halogen work lamp.
The machine is supplied with Siemens electrical switchgear and Siemens 810D CNC Control System with Manualturn conversational software. The system is fully digital and incorporates the very latest technology. This control system offers the operator with several modes of operation:
use the machine manually using the CNC display as an X and Z digital readout system
use the CNC system in a manual mode to reproduce radii or tapers.
use of CNC system in ‘teach-in’ mode, the system automatically generates its own programme after completing the first piece manually.
for simple programming using ‘assisted’ mode at the machine. This type of programming can be performed by operators with minimal training.
G-codes or downloading from AutoCad or other CAD systems via specific software programmes such as SMARTCAM or TRACECUT
