The teach-in heavy duty lathe model RT317RF3 has been specially designed for manual or CNC operation. It combines the technological features of a manual conventional lathe and the advantages of a heavy duty CNC lathe.
FEATURES
The bed of the RT317RF3 teach-in lathe has double V-type guideways for the carriage which maximises the rigidity, accuracy and life of the guideways. There is a third guideway at the base of the apron which has two roller guides. All guideways are hardened and ground.
To enhance the precision headstock of the lathe, it has 4 programmable speed ranges engaged automatically by the CNC system.. The four main drive speed ranges combined with powerful 30kW AC digital spindle drive provide a wide range of spindle rotation speeds making the machine suitable for both precision and powerful cutting jobs.
The carriage is fed along hardened and ground steel racks with automatic backlash compensation. Linear scales are provided for the longitudinal movement guaranteeing positional accuracy along the entire length of the machine.
The cross-slide feed is via ball screw transmission from an AC servo motor through gear link belt transmission on box guideways.
A 4-position high precision toolpost is mounted on the lathe. Its design features ensure high accuracy of each turn and precision fixing of each of its positions.
The heavy duty tailstock, giving the machine a maximum workpiece weight between centres of 8,000kg or 10,000kg, is equipped with a live centre and a fixation force (0.5 to 5 tonne control device).
The tailstock drive is mechanized.
The lathe is equipped with a number of rests of different designs. – Fixed closed rest with three rollers – An open roller rest with two rollers
The manual turn lathe is equipped with Fagor 8055, Siemens 840D, Fanuc Oi CNC and drives. All electrical equipment is certified and complies with CE standards.
Automatic lubrication system of the machine is provided.
Lathe conforms to the CE safety norms approved by CE committee. The RT317RF3 design features include cutting zone sliding cover, which protects all of the carriage. The CNC controls are mounted on an enclosure on the right hand side of the apron. The apron has control handles on it and the main CNC controls are to the right on a cantilever console. There are two electronic hand wheels on the front face of the apron providing crosswise x-axis and longitudinal z-axis
The technical, ergonomic and accuracy related characteristics of the RT317RF3 correspond with those of the best machines produced by Wohlenberg (Germany), Safop (Italy) and Gurutzpe (Spain).
